Fred Claus - Movie Review and Trailer

Posted by prettysleepy on February 5, 2008

I took two boys to see this movie. One of them did NOT want to go. It turned out that he loved it. We all really enjoyed the movie. I wasn’t real excited about going, myself. But it turned out that I liked it much more than the other movies we’ve seen lately.

Fred Claus has lived his entire life in his brother’s very large shadow. Fred tried, but could hardly live up to the example set by the younger Nicholas, who was just a perfect, well, saint. True to form, Nicholas grew up to be the model of giving, while Fred became the polar opposite: a fast-talking repo man who’s run out of luck and money. Over Mrs. Claus’ objections, Nicholas agrees to help his brother on one condition: that he come to the North Pole and earn the money he needs by working in Santa’s Toy Shop. The trouble is that Fred isn’t exactly elf material and, with Christmas fast approaching, Fred could jeopardize the jolliest holiday of the year.

Easter 2007, Christmas II

Posted by prettysleepy on March 31, 2007

In eight days it will be Easter Sunday. Today we went to the mall and saw the Bunny there, he had a LONG line of kids waiting to sit on his lap and TELL HIM WHAT PRESENTS THEY WANTED for the Easter holiday. Why didn’t we do that when I was little? Kids are lucky these days, when I was little we only got one Christmas and one Birthday and that was it.

PSP For Christmas

Posted by prettysleepy on January 7, 2007

This Christmas I received a PSP I have been playing a game called “Twisted Metal”. It reminds me of the game on our old Nintendo 64 system called Vigilante 8. You choose a car to drive and pick up weapons and basically blow up all the other cars. The PSP version of the Twisted Metal game doesn’t have any swearing or blood, but I have heard the PS2 version of this game is not very family friendly. I know a game where you blow up the other cars doesn’t sound family friendly anyway, does it? Another game I play on it is Sudoku, which is always fun.The PSP is pretty cool, though. I have used it to access the internet, although this is time consuming. There is no keyboard and typing on it takes quite a while. You can also get movies for it but I have noticed that the sound on the movies is a little low. The psp can be used as a mp3 player, too. The included wireless internet is handy for downloading game demos from PSP’s official website: http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP

BB Gun Pain

Posted by prettysleepy on December 28, 2006

No, it’s not what you think. I haven’t been shot. I spent countless hours yesterday in the garage shooting various items I found around the house. Today unfortunately, I can hardly lift my arms. I tried this menthol pain cream, but apparently you have to be paralyzed before you use that stuff. Does the pain cream really work or is it a joke item that different companies make?        Corporate Executive: “I know, lets make a “pain reliever” that when some poor sucker rubs it on, it will actually make the pain ten times worse! Wouldn’t that be hilarious?”         In my opinion the ice cold on sore limbs is like additional torture.  I quickly jumped back into the shower and washed that junk off. I showed them. . .
The funny thing is that I think I’m about to start looking for more things to shoot. Will I never learn?

I got a Roomba for Christmas

Posted by prettysleepy on December 27, 2006

This year I got a Roomba Vacuum for Christmas. My husband has already named it “Sandy”, but I secretly call it “Bob”.  Why do I feel like I need to vacuum the floor with the regular vacuum first before I set Bob loose to clean? I think I am a little afraid for Bob. I didn’t get one before because we seem to go through at least one vacuum a year and I wasn’t sure if this little electronic guy would hold up. I guess time will tell. Bob cleans up and then he returns to his base to charge. He is really smart.

The Day After Christmas. . .

Posted by prettysleepy on December 26, 2006

Here it is the day after Christmas and my husband and I are really enjoying the kid’s gifts. We are enjoying them more than the kids are. Our favorites, in particular, are the red rider bb guns. They are really great. I love shooting the cans. . .and what ever else I can find around the house. It is a blast to make targets to shoot at. I don’t have time for laundry and dishes anymore.  I actually considered shooting at holiday ornaments today (only for a quick minute - then I came to my senses). I just can’t understand why the kids don’t enjoy them as much and the grown-ups. Has the world gone mad?

Christmas Day

Posted by prettysleepy on December 25, 2006

We had a good holiday. The kids played with their presents and the big excitement was a visit from grandma and grandpa. My dog enjoyed his present a little too much. He got a squeeker toy which he squeeked non stop for about an hour or so. Then it quit working and I feel a little sad for him, he still trys to squeek it.

Day before Christmas. . .

Posted by prettysleepy on December 24, 2006

Is it normal to wait until the Chrismas Eve to wrap all the presents? That is what I do - every single year. I wonder if other people are more organized and have it done by now. Maybe I just like to have the excuse of locking myself away for 5 hours on the day before Christmas. Of course I have to watch movies while I wrap. That makes it more enjoyable. . .
