Mayflies are Swarming in June at Cedar Point
June 19, 2010 by Z
Sometime around the middle of May and lasting through June and into July, there is a plague of insects that strikes the cities, towns, and villages along Lake Erie’s shoreline. Last year we took a trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio and found it over run with mayflies. Here is a picture from Cedar Point’s webcam with a mayfly on the lens. We asked a local what the heck the irritating bugs were and here is what she told us: Mayflies in June – Swarms of Them! The little bugs even have an official website!
