Help! Can anyone who knows about XBOX Live help me with this? I have a ten year old who I purchased xbox live for. I didn’t know about the parental settings because he set it up himself and started playing. He was playing today and told me he heard all kinds of terrible stuff. He was upset that some teenagers were mean to him and called him bad names, teasing him. I feel terrible that he went through that! Now I feel the need to cancel the xbox live and he is upset about that. If I turn on the parental controls, will he still be able to hear the other players? Sometimes they say bad things. How would he make friends to play the games with if I restrict them? We don’t know anyone with an xbox. I wonder if there is a safe way for him to play with other kids his age through the xbox live. Can you help me with any of this? Thanks and I appriciate your time
I personally will not be letting my child play on Xbox Live. I am considering selling my violent games to replace with more racing / sports oriented games. With the vulgar language I hear from 15 and under players I will never let my child experience that until they are old enough.
Please make sure that you have read the parental consent in the manuals that the game publishers provide so that your child is never hurt verbally by some unprofessional players. Try to put regular watch on the activities your child is undergoing while playing online games as there are a lot of people who just play game in order to misguide the young ones. Games are for fun not for mind destruction consequently to lowering down the humanity.
Have fun and let have fun………
