Pancake Puffs My Butt

May 16, 2008

I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I bought the Pancake Puff kit. Guess what else. I returned it the next day. Yes, they got me. I’m a sucker. My husband and I both tried cooking with it and it didn’t work. Everything sticks to it, and the pancakes taste MUCH better shaped in the normal, flat way. Just so you know, I didn’t buy it because I wanted it. I got it for the youngsters in our family. Apparently, the Pancake Puff kit is being pushed pretty hard on Cartoon Network. They sell all the ‘As Seen On TV’ junk at Walgreens, which is where I picked up this treasure (heh). The manager at Walgreens was nice about the return, he just smirked at me a little (I’m sure of it).  I looked on Youtube for a Pancake Puff commercial for this post. Surprisingly, there are several ‘Pancake Puff’ clips to choose from. What’s up with that? Is there a Pancake Puff cult I don’t know about? Do you know what is most disturbing? I just watched a clip of a toddler cooking with the Pancake Puff kit and he’s not having any trouble. Martha Stewart I’m not. I feel very inadequate. If I see that commercial again I may take a baseball bat to the TV.

The cute kids in the following video are not mine, it’s a clip I found on youtube:
