Complaints About Zohan

Posted by prettysleepy on May 14, 2008

The upcomming  PG-13  movie, You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, comes out June 6. It stars Adam Sandler and looks like it will be funny. The problem is, they are showing the movie trailer during children’s movies like Speed Racer. They make it look like it would be a good movie for kids to see. Then they show a DIFFERENT preview (at the same theatre) during the movie Iron Man and this trailer shows some ’sexual connotations’. Obviously, Hollywood thinks it’s just fine to trick us into taking our kids to a movie that is inappropriate for them.  The rating is listed as “Rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content throughout, language and nudity”. Holy cow! If this is the case, they shouldn’t change the trailer to appeal to younger kids and advertise it during a movie that is rated PG (Speed Racer)!

This is the trailer shown during Speed Racer:

You know, my main complaint is that most movies lately show all of the good parts in the trailer!

That’s true. Sometimes you don’t even need to see the movie. They seem to give everything away!

I have taken my grandsons to a few movies based on a trailer we saw during a kids movie, only to see that the movie was inappropiate for them after we are sitting in the audience.

I believe this is another way for Hollywood to get around the PG rating, they can show a trailer and censor the inappropiate scenes so that you are interested enough to suggest taking the children. I have left the movie theater with my grandchildren upset because the movie was not appropiate for them. It is difficult to explain to young children why they can not stay.

Sort of ruins some of the time we have together.

You know…I try to be open minded about things and I generally hold a liberal/libertarian view on things but I’m really getting sick of all the sexual innuendo in advertising and movies aimed at kids and their gen-X age parents. Also, whhy do I need to explain erectile dysfunction to my 11 year old because I let him watch a movie on TBS?!

I fell prey to this. I took my kids (11 and 12) and had to walk out. Completely inappropriate for even older kids.

I have been a long time fan of Adam Sandler purchased all the DVDs and let my teenagers watch the movies. I by no means am a fanatic or crazy person. I really did not like this movie at all and us I am FUll Blood american ans well as my children. But i found this movie to be a desgrace to the Lebanese people not all Lebannon people are a part of Hezbola and half of them are christian, how do i know all this because my husband is from Lebannon and they way he portrayed the Lebanese people is horrible, it is another way for the americans to hate the middle east and poke fun of them with out getting to really know what it is like for them.

I took my thirteen year old daughter to see zohan. and was absolutly disgusted. it was racist. and there was clearly revolting sexual scenes. which I found sickening let alone my daughter. What are they trying to portray to our children these days. why did he not get a std that would of been more relistic.
and there trying to say that lebanese people behave like that. absolute shambles, I,m gonna find out who to complain to and I advise everyone else to do the same.I actually feel that strongly that I think complaints should be made public.
